The Grind
This week was all about preparing for our presentation for Mr.Reed, Mr.Thomas, Mrs.Williams and many other teachers. We took the mini business plan we made the previous week and decided what were the most important points from it. We also discussed what would be the most valuable points from our lean canvas and what would be the best presentation format to use. We ended up choosing Prezi to display our presentation for the teachers and picked the most important parts from our business plans. All this planning was done on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Friday, we went through a dry run of out presentation and prepared ourselves for difficult questions and problems that could occur or be brought up in our meeting. We were not completely prepared for our presentation, because we only have five or six slides, so we will need to make sure that is done by the time we return from Spring Break. Our initial launch date had been immediately following the return of Spring Break, but now we have realized it will need to be pushed back a few days in order to meet and make decisions with regards to location and supplies.

Husky BuyPass - New Affiliate Marketing Program
This week we have come up with our company name - Husky BuyPass. In addition to the name, we have also purchased the domain huskybuypass.com and plan to host our website there when it is developed. We also presented our Lean Canvas and overall feel confident in our business so far. We believe one of the best parts of this service will be when people need to buy books for school, as we'll be able to make them easy to find and highlight the cheapest prices.
Future plans for next week are to:
-Find out what products people like to buy online.
-Build the website.

Flint Hill's Affiliate Marketing Business
Today during the class time, we had a meeting regarding the future of the business. We have finished up our Lean Canvas business model and we feel confident that our business is ready to be developed. Next steps include creation of friendly and usable website that students and parents can access easily. This will hopefully help the Flint Hill Community as a whole.

AcademicConnect is now an Affiliate Marketing Website
We have decided that due to a lack of interest from the student body, we are now leaving the idea of a student helpline and are now creating an affiliate marketing website customized for the Flint Hill population.
Currently we are going with Ebay and Amazon as our partners and are working on how we will build the website.

PuckerUp Update 2
Update before the electronic business plan:
We have not used our paper canvas very much, but we have been talking about the materials that we need to make our product and trying to get all of the materials needed to start.
So far we have ordered the following...
Shea Butter
Coconut Oil
Beeswax
We are translating everything onto the electronic canvas today.
We are having some trouble staying in the price range of $200 because of additional shipping costs, so in order to save some money we are going to drop a flavor. Originally we had mango, strawberry, peppermint, and vanilla, but to save money we will cut the vanilla flavor.

Food? Food.
Today we worked on hashing out a lot of small details like who to get in touch with to talk to about being able to use the Igloo space. We also got our idea of the bake sale like day where we have people taste different types of coffees to give us feedback. We were also able to create a survey for students to tell us some details that will be helpful when deciding what we want to offer at the cafe and when we should be open during the day. Our main focus right now is figuring out if we are allowed to use the Igloo. Once we have that information, the next steps in the process will come a little faster.

Food?Food.
We filtered each idea and tried to decide which was necessary and tried to get away from brand names, like Keurig, thus we had to reevaluate our Keurig idea. With each idea we had we had to go through and think about the logistics and developed questions. After choosing to stray from the Keurig idea we then researched about which stores sell the products that we need for a low price. We then brainstormed the basics of what we needed for our business and what we wanted to start with. Realizing that we would have some perishables and run into a few health code issues we brainstormed about solutions that would fix these problems.
